Mitchell Elementary school has been designated a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the U. S. Department of Education. The Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes high quality instruction in schools whose faculty and staff develop character of self-worth, democratic values, ethical judgment and self-discipline in their students.
Mitchell Elementary enjoys a reputation for academic excellence. The focus of Mitchell is on student achievement. Students are consistently challenged and encouraged to excel. Teaching practices at Mitchell Elementary School include acceleration of curriculum and real world experiences. Students acquire independence and develop a sense of self-worth by learning how to prioritize, make choices and organize their time.
Each and every day the teaching professionals at Mitchell encourage students to do their best! We are always thinking about how we can improve. We are always willing to try new concepts and techniques, as we strive to find better ways to deliver higher education to our students.
Mitchell Elementary School has a very active and hard working PTA. Our PTA works hard to provide support and assistance to every child in order to enrich their school experience. Working with the school as partners in education has been a long standing tradition. As a matter of fact, Mitchell moms organized Tampa’s first PTA in 1918!
Mitchell Elementary is an outstanding educational institution dedicated to meeting the needs of all students. We prepare students for the many challenges of tomorrow!
